What is the Online Postmaster Account?

The Online Postmaster is a special email address that will allow you to manage all of your email accounts. You can create new email addresses, change passwords, and create/modify aliases (forward emails). Only accounts that have *Standard, Premium or Corporate plans have access to this feature. If you have a Budget Hosting Plan, please use the "cPanel Interface" to configure your email accounts (http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel). If you would like to upgrade to an account that has access to this feature, please email us at support@needa.com.

Accessing or logging into the Online Postmaster:

Using your web browser, open the page at http://mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name). Login as postmaster@yourdomain.com and your main account password for your domain (same as your FTP or FrontPage password).

To configure your email users:

Select the Settings Option and select Email Administration.

When you see the Email Administration screen as below, click on the 'Add User' button to create a new email address (user).

The userid will be the first part of the email address before the @ symbol. Enter the userid, first name, last name, and password. We recommend you leave all the other attributes at the default value. You can check the box to disable the user from changing their password if desired. Also, the web access option will prevent that user from using web mail if unchecked (Do not do this for your postmaster user).

Click the "Save" button to save the changes. If you get a message that says you have reached the maximum number of emails allowed, then you can delete another unused email account, or add more emails to your account using the "Add/Modify Service" option in the member's area at https://needa.com/members/.

Repeat these steps to add more email addresses (users).

To configure forwarding accounts:

Under Email Settings select Email Accounts and then select Add Alias.

If you want to have all your email forwarded to another email account (perhaps at your ISP or office email address) then enter an alias named with an alias id of nobody and enter your email address as the destination. The nobody alias is a catch-all alias, it will catch everything @ yourdomain.com and forward it to the destination email you specify.

You can also create individual aliases. For example: If you want Joe to get all the email that is sent to sales@yourdomain.com, info@yourdomain.com, and signup@yourdomain.com, then add three aliases sales, info, and signup with the destination of joe@joesmail.com. Please note that if the destination will be a local user (for example you@yourdomain.com ) you dont need to enter the @yourdomain.com portion when entering destination.
